In the field of chemistry, classical handbooks and abstract journals such as Beilstein, Gmelin, or Chemical Abstracts have for a long time endeavored to evaluate scientific publications and render them findable for scientists. These services are now also as available in the form of electronic databases, rendering the knowledge contained in them retrievable all over the world using a search in the chemical area.

In addition to bibliographic databases such as Chemical Abstracts, we use factual databases such as ReaxysFile, chemical reaction databases such as CASREACT, and chemical substance databases such as Registry to provide precisely accurate information for our customers. On request, we evaluate the research results and summarize them in a search report.

Moreover, we are also specialized in patent searches in the field of chemistry. In addition to searching for patent applicants, inventors, or patent families, we search for substances protected by patents. These may be, for example, "small" organic molecules, synthetic polymers, or biopolymers. The searches can be conducted either using the name of the substance (e.g. trademark or brand name), by means of its structure, monomeric components, or its sequence. Complete patent searches for organic substances always have to take into account generic MARKUSH structures that are widely used in patent claims.

A frequent objective of patent searches is to identify material which is prejudicial to novelty in order to file opposition, for example. Not only patent publications can be prejudicial to novelty but also scientific publications, dissertations, or other "gray" literature. In the field of chemistry, we are specialized in conducting these types of searches for our clients.
